STING is a lightweight quadcopter interceptor featuring a raised central section that contains its warhead and camera. During the first four months of serial production, Ukrainian forces used STING interceptors to destroy more than 1,000 Russian Shahed- and Gerbera-type drones.
Several months earlier, Ukrainian serviceman with the callsign “Hulk,” who holds the title Hero of Ukraine, destroyed two Russian attack drones with a single interceptor during a combat mission, according to footage published by the Presidential Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian drone pilots have set a new altitude record by destroying a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle with a STING interceptor drone at more than 7 kilometers above ground, according to Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi on August 18.
The Wild Hornets drone manufacturer told the outlet that the “Klever” crew of the “Hrim” unmanned systems unit of Ukraine’s 27th National Guard Brigade intercepted the Russian UAV at an altitude of 7,472 meters.
The interception surpassed previous reported records for Ukrainian interceptor drones. According to Militarnyi, earlier in August, a pilot from the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “A” struck a Russian aerial target at an altitude of 6,955 meters.

Built with a 3D printed, aerodynamic, bullet-shaped frame and propelled by four rotors, the Sting can reach flight speeds of 213 mph (343 km/h)and cruise at an altitude of 10,000 ft (3,000 m). It uses Kurbas thermal imaging cameras from Odd Systems. Sting has an engagement range of up to 25 kilometers. Sting drones can be controlled from distances of up to 2,000 kilometers using the Hornet Vision Control system.
