Description The Tac Med Solutions SOF Gen 5 tourniquet is almost the same as the SOF Gen 4, but it has a red triangle under the ratchet that shows when it’s tight enough. This helps make sure the tourniquet isn’t too loose. This is crucial for the correct application of the tourniquet and reduces the number of turns of the ratchet required to stop bleeding. Features No Velcro, making it the tourniquet of choice when used in water. It is put on the limb in the form of a loop or unfastened with a buckle, which speeds up its application, especially on the leg. It is structurally more complex to use for self-help compared to other types of tourniquets. Recommendations After purchasing the tourniquet, change the factory packaging and place the tourniquet in a closed bag or first aid kit, minimizing contact with the environment. Carrying tourniquets in factory film can complicate their use! The 5th generation (NSN: 6515-01-696-4522) SOFT tourniquet has not been included in the TCCC recommendations.
