Description Active protective headphones Howard Leight Impact Sport R-02524 Black are a modified version of conventional passive shooting headphones used to protect hearing from loud gunfire. The main difference between active and passive headphones is their smart electronic “stuffing”. Directional stereo microphones pick up external sounds and transmit them to internal speakers, providing natural sound. At the same time, ambient sounds of low volume are amplified by the headphones (voices, rustling, creaks), and loud sounds, such as gunshots, are reduced to a comfortable level. A shooter wearing Howard Leight Impact Sport headphones does not experience ear discomfort when shooting, and he can have a conversation with his partner without stopping shooting (provided that the partner also has active headphones). Whether you’re at the range or hunting, Honeywell’s Howard Leight headphones protect you from dangerous noise and keep you connected to your surroundings. They have a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 22 in both on and off mode. When the electronic hearing protection is on, it uses built-in directional microphones to amplify ambient sounds to a safe level of 82 dB. This allows you to hear important commands at range and important environmental sounds while hunting.
